Earth has been using their horticultural setting to teach gardening skills to adults with learning difficulties and mental health issues from Ely and surrounding villages since 1998.

We use gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with limited abilities or ill health, or who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable.

We are dedicated and passionate about the health benefits that gardening, horticulture and spending time in nature can bring. Our aim is to ensure that people with varying needs have the opportunity to attend our facilities in Ely and are actively encouraged to use gardening as part of their personal health and wellbeing management.

We have over 20 years’ experience of operating and have developed approaches to improve an individual’s physical and psychological health, communication and thinking skills. Gardening can bring profound positive change, from improvements in physical and mental well-being to gaining skills, knowledge and abilities.

Winter weather is often too cold or too wet to do much in the allotment areas and even the poly tunnels. So we have a range of inspirational craft and social initiatives which our Service Users can undertake in the dry and warmth of our site huts.
